Rafa joined Quona in 2019 as a Principal and was promoted to Partner in 2022. He is focused on sourcing, executing and managing investments in Latin America.
Rafa brings 15 years of experience across venture capital, impact investing, private equity, and investment banking. Prior to Quona, Rafa spent six years at Omidyar Network, where he invested in education, emerging technologies, and financial inclusion ventures in LatAm and the US. He has also worked for Acumen Fund and Adobe Ventures, two impact investment funds, and MezzVest, a leading European subordinated debt fund manager. He began his career at UBS Investment Bank in London.
Rafa holds an MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley, and honors degrees in law and business administration from ICADE (Madrid).
